Mission Accomplished
Today is the fourth anniversary of George W. Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” speech. And where I used to have anger and bewilderment, all I have left now are questions.
How did we get here? How could we let this happen? Why are we still letting it happen? Do we care? What the hell do we do now?
“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”
-George W. Bush, 4/9/99, Houston Chronicle, on Kosovo
